Gold Medalist Winner of the 2007 International Tchaikovsky Cello Competition Sergey Antonov has won numerous awards and competitions and is known for his expressive playing and rich, warm tone. Hailed as “a brilliant cellist” by the legendary Mstislav Rostropovich, he performs throughout Europe, Japan, and the US, and even performed a work specifically commissioned for him to perform with the Moscow Philharmonic.
“…and it’s almost impossible to say too many good things about…Antonov (who to these ears seems destined for cello superstardom).…a performance with soaring phrases and a tone to die for.”
Ilya Kazantsev, a fresh and exciting presence on the international music scene, has performed as recitalist and soloist with orchestras extensively in Russia and the United States, as well as appearing in Canada, Ukraine, Belarus, Slovenia, Italy, Germany, and Japan. The 1998 Gold Medal Winner of the Artur Rubinstein International Competition in Paris, Mr. Kazantsev made his sold out solo début at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in November 2007, as a winner of the Nadia Reisenberg Piano Award at Mannes College.
"Ilya Kazantsev plays with intelligence, artistic integrity, and never a carelessly produced sound."
