DJs ON THE HARBOR: Picó Picante & Que Bajo?!

Ernesto Morales (DJ Malagon) and Sara Skolnik (DJ Riobamba) make up “beat-bilingual” tropical bass duo Pajaritos, who, since 2011, have been running their nightlife event series, Picó Picante—voted Best Dance Night by DigBoston—which celebrates a cultural blend of global dance music. A resident at the transnational Picó Picante and the force behind the DYI venue Spectacle, Oxycontinental is a Boston-based Colombo-Venezuelan DJ-musician and cultural producer, as well as the moniker of artist-hacker-curator Ricardo de Lima. Uproot Andy and Geko Jones are DJs at the wildly popular tropical night Que Bajo?! in New York, spinning a mix of electronically minded tropical and Latin dance music. Uproot Andy is a fixture on the tropical bass music scene, releasing mixes on labels such as Bersa Discos, ZZK, Dutty Artz, and Ghetto Bassquake. Geko Jones mixes music that spans the tropical hemispheres with globally sonic dance floor mayhem. He is a partner and co-founder of record label Dutty Artz with Matt Shadetek and DJ /Rupture.
