    Moments of Play Ten-Minute Play Festival

    The Salem Theatre Company brings its popular Moments of Play (MoP) festival of original ten-minute plays back to the stage from Wednesday, July 10 through Sunday, July 14 at the STC Theater, 90 Lafayette Street in downtown Salem.     The Salem Theatre Company brings its popular Moments of Play (MoP) festival of original ten-minute plays back to the stage from Wednesday, July 10 through Sunday, July 14 at the STC Theater, 90 Lafayette Street in downtown Salem. The ten selected plays for the Seventh Annual Play Festival will be presented Wednesday through Friday at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday & Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 and are available online at www.salemtheatre.com

    The festival’s 10-play program features work from New England playwrights, and were selected from over 200 plays submitted. The festival also features directorial and STC acting debuts alongside STC “regulars.”

    On Saturday, July 13 at 7:30 p.m., three nationally recognized playwrights will gather on the STC stage to discuss and review the ten plays presented this year. The public is invited to this free event featuring Richard Dresser, Ronan Noone and Kate Snodgrass.

    The ten 10-Minute Plays to be performed this year are Fracking with Walt Whitman by Gregory Hischak of South Yarmouth, MA, Delicious by Jamie Wilkinson of Danvers, MA, Rope Trick by Michael Tooher of Portland, ME, 3 A.M. by Barbara Blumenthal-Ehrlich of Needham, MA, Broom Clean by R.D. Murphy of Beverly, MA, After Hours Stan by Martyna Majok and Mouse Galaxy by Jonathan Yukich both of New Haven, CT, Crystal Clear by Emma Cavalier of Salem, MA, War Hero by Julian Olf of Leverett, MA, and The Philosophy of Dogs by George Smart Quincy, MA.
