Boston Gay Men's Chorus
July 13 - July 19, 2013
The Boston Gay Men’s Chorus is one of New England’s largest and most successful community-based choruses. Now in its 31st season, the 175-voice ensemble is under the leadership of Music Director Reuben M. Reynolds III, singing a diverse repertoire encompassing virtually all periods and styles of music, from classical masterpieces to popular entertainment (like their “Boys Just Wanna Have Fun: Totally ‘80s” concert).
The BGMC is heard live by more than 12,000 people each season; they’ve recorded ten compact discs, earning four Outmusic Award nominations. They were also featured in the 2003 documentary series The Visionaries hosted by Sam Waterston, winning a 2003 Telly Award for Outstanding Short Documentary given to non-network TV programming.
