Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra Performs Jesus Christ Superstar
November 22 - November 24, 2013
As the Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra’s first studio recording, ‘Jesus Christ Superstar—A 21st Century Tribute to the Brown Album’ was the project that put so many musicians and singers together prompting Sal and Alan to realize they had an opportunity to make some crazy, new, giant, rock band. Prior to this recording, the URO didn’t exist. The album itself was born out of the URO co-founder’s mutual admiration of this classic, definitive rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice - first recorded in 1970 with Ian Gillan of Deep Purple singing ‘Jesus’ (the fabled ‘Brown Album.’) Now, for the first time on the Regent stage, the URO will perform the 26 song epic ‘live’ on stage - a mammoth undertaking - one sure to elicit electrifying moments.
