IMC's Open for Dancing will celebrate its sixth season in 2013.  Choreographers John-Mark Owen, Yanira Castro and Deborah Lohse (all from New York) have chosen sites and are preparing now for this amazing and joyful festival.  Each dance will be unique and made with a "company" made up of Island Moving Co. dancers working with members of the community.  Anyone who wants to can perform in Open for Dancing.  For individuals, a $150 fee includes participation in an O4D original work, master classes, parties and opportunities to meet the artists. Schools and colleges can bring groups of students into the festival for a negotiated group rate. This year, with help from the National Endowment for the Arts, we're also taking Open for Dancing on the road.  Tom Pearson of Third Rail Projects in New York will choreograph a site specific work for the fabulous post-industrial space of The Steel Yard, in Olneyville in Providence, RI in collaboration with O4D veteran Bob Rizzo.
