    Guinga Meets Berklee

    As part of the Signature Music Series at Berklee, Brazilian composer and guitarist Carlos Althier de Souza Lemos Escobar – aka Guinga – comes to Berklee on Thursday, December 12th. Beyond being known for incorporating multiple musical styles in his compositions, including choro, samba, baião, foxtrot, blues, jazz, and classical, Guinga’s works have been recorded by such artists as Sérgio Mendes, Paulo César Pinheiro, Elis Regina, Cauby Peixoto, Lela Pinheiro, Turíbio Santos, and others. Tickets are $18 in advance (discount applied at check out), $24 day of show, reserved seating.

    By "T": Take the Green Line to the Hynes Convention Center stop. Exit left onto Massachusetts Avenue and cross Boylston Street. The Berklee Performance Center is about 30 yards from the corner. Consult the MBTA Web site for bus routes and schedules.

    Limited metered parking is available on the streets surrounding the Berklee Performance Center and Berklee College of Music.
