Open House and Instrument Petting Zoo
September 15, 2013
Join BMS for this interactive and fun day of sampling several different instruments and engaging in class demonstrations. Brookline Music School (BMS) hosts an Open House & Instrument Petting Zoo on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 10am to 3pm. From 10am until 12pm, faculty will present demonstrations for its birth to age 7 class offerings, including early childhood, dance/creative movement, Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Suzuki instruction, beginning piano and percussion. From 1 to 3pm, the Instrument Petting Zoo will allow children and adults the opportunity to test various instruments in a fun, social and engaging environment. Class demonstrations for all of the programs will also take place from 1 to 3pm.
Brookline Music School offers a curriculum that is appropriate for every stage of life: from infant to elementary, grade school to middle school, teen and high school years, adulthood and beyond. The staff are always available to offer guidance as to what the best choices are for each individual as they move from one life stage to the next.
At Brookline Music School’s Instrument Petting Zoos, children and adults are given the opportunity to listen to and play a wide range of instruments, including woodwinds, brass, strings, guitar, piano, drums and music technology. Children puff their cheeks in anticipation of playing the wind instruments, while others try their hands at the strings, drums and piano. Several instruments are often larger than the children, which dos not dissuade their curiosity or ability!
