Harvard Treasures Tour: The Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine
Presented by Harvard Art Museums
September 27, 2013
Ethan Lasser, Associate Curator of American Art, Division of European and American Art, Harvard Art Museums; and Dominic Hall, curator, Warren Anatomical Museum, The Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine
This year’s Harvard Treasures tour series focuses on American Art, History, and Culture. We begin with an in-depth look at the Countway Library of Medicine’s holdings, which are related to clinical medicine, biological sciences, public health, and dentistry. Ethan Lasser and Dominic Hall will provide insights into the importance of this lesser-known collection of rare books, archival material, and artifacts (such as anatomical specimens, models, and instruments).
Participation is free, but space is limited and registration is required. Harvard Treasures is a members-only series that explores the university’s architectural riches and art holdings beyond the Harvard Art Museums. To learn more about membership and to register for the tour, email email@example.com or call 617-495-4544.
