BASS on Tour: Boston
Presented by Brooklyn Art Song Society at Newton Free Library
October 10, 2015 - October 10, 2013
October 10th at the Newton Free Public Library. Already one of New York City’s most talked about new ensembles, BASS is eager to bring its first rate performances and innovative programming to the greater Boston area for three concerts in the 2013-14 Season. The first program features the piano works and songs of Johannes Brahms: His 6 Klavierstücke op. 118 performed with some of his most beloved songs between the movements. Included in this performance are some of Brham’s most iconic songs: Wie Melodien ziehst es mir, vor ewiger Liebe, and Feldeinsamkeit to name just a few. Two of New York Cities most gifted singers, soprano Kristina Bachrach and baritone David Williams, join artistic director and pianist Michael Brofman. This program is part of BASS’s fall festival: Clara, Robert, and Johannes which will present classical music’s greatest love triangle through the songs of Clara Schumann, Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. This event is free and open to the public.
