    Spanish Masters

Blue Heron (Scott Metcalfe, dir.) offers music of 16th-century Spain, featuring Alonso Lobo’s Missa Simile est regnum caelorum, based on a motet by Francisco Guerrero. Blue Heron will be joined by Becky Baxter, Spanish Double Harp, and Daniel Zuluaga, Vihuela. A previous program of Spanish music was reviewed by Matthew Guerrieri in the Boston Globe: "The choir's warm, organ-like sound, weighted toward tenor and bass, blended wonderfully with the instruments". (April 29, 2008).
