Fall Open House at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston
October 14, 2013
The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), welcomes visitors to its annual Fall Open House on Monday, October 14, 2013 (Columbus Day), from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Admission to all exhibitions and programs is free, including John Singer Sargent Watercolors and the Benin Kingdom Gallery, featuring art from the ancient African kingdom of Benin (in present-day Nigeria). Programming for all ages ranges from watercolor workshops and drawing in the galleries to performance art by Boston’s Dell Hamilton, created in response to the debate surrounding immigration in the United States. Berklee College of Music graduates Mmmmaven will demonstrate a cutting-edge music program inspired by the exhibition Hippie Chic. Additionally, a short film program celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and tours of the Museum’s collection will take place throughout the day. The Fall Open House is sponsored by Ameriprise Financial.
