Emily King is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter born and raised in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. She recently released the critically acclaimed EP Seven and toured with Maroon 5 and Emeli Sande. King’s carefully crafted compositions serve as a vehicle for her lush vocals, which harbor both innocence and honesty. With a gentle mix of soul, folk, and rock influences, King’s music emotes the kind of to-the-point storytelling that’s reminiscent of many singer-songwriters of the 1970’s. She’s currently writing and recording her next album.
Nick Hakim, a singer-songwriter who draws from the musical likes of Marvin Gaye, Harry Nillson, and the Impressions, will be opening the show. Playing shows with his band mainly throughout New York and Boston, Hakim has been cultivating his sound for his debut album, which is set to be released this fall.
