Presented by Williams College at Williams College '62 Center for Theatre and Dance
April 11 - April 12, 2014
Founded in 2010, CoDa (Contemporary Dance Ensemble) re-imagines dance on the campus by fostering collaboration across artistic and academic disciplines. By integrating the foundational techniques of modern and ballet with contemporary and popular forms of movement, music, and multimedia, we focus on the creation of original work by both faculty and students. Recent projects include “LeWitticisms: A Moving Exhibit,” based on the Sol LeWitt wall drawing installation at Mass MoCA, and “Rite of Spring,” our response to Igor Stravinsky’s seminal score which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2013. This year, CoDa will continue its creation of new works, including a piece made for the dancers by guest choreographer Diane Arvanites, artistic director of Prometheus Dance. Join us for another year of eclectic, theatrical dance!
