Boston Baroque: New Directions, "Time Curves"

Presented by at Edward M. Pickman Concert Hall

    October 19, 2013

    Boston Baroque: New Directions,

Travel with Boston Baroque to the early 20th century for the harpsichord concerto of Manuel Da Falla, written in 1926 for Wanda Landowska. Martin Pearlman's time-traveling piano variations take us on a journey from Beethoven into the 21st century. Back in the Baroque, Teresa Wakim sings Clérambault's brilliant setting of the Orpheus story, and we end with Rameau’s joyous Pièce de clavecin en concert, some of the most inspired and innovative music of its time.

    Featuring: Martin Pearlman, harpsichord
Teresa Wakim, soprano and Donald Berman, piano
