John Singer Sargent’s Watercolors and His Legacy

While most often regarded for his incredible portraits, John Singer Sargent (1865-1925) painted some 2,000 watercolors in his long career. The stunning coloration and playful subject matters reveal these works as projects of passion. In conjunction with the triumphant exhibition at the MFA Boston through January 20, 2014, discover this consummate artist and his legacy, with panelists: Joshua Rose, Editor, American Fine Art; Erica E. Hirshler, Croll Senior Curator of American Paintings at the MFA and co-author of the book on the exhibition; and others. This special lecture will take place Saturday, November 23rd at 3:00pm, at The Cyclorama at the Boston Center for The Arts as part of the Boston International Fine Art Show.
