Off The Beaten Path
November 23, 2013
The season begins in November with extraordinary but seldom-heard choral works from Eastern Europe. In a salute to the BSO's newly appointed Music Director Andris Nelsons, the chorus will offer works from his rich musical Latvian heritage. In addition, The Spectrum Singers will perform remarkable music by Leoš Janáek, known for his colorful chromaticism, and by Zoltán Kodály, loved for his melodic richness. Renowned organist Heinrich Christensen will solo and accompany from the First Church's vibrant Frobenius console.
