25th Boston Jewish Film Festival - The Jewish Cardinal
November 16, 2013
This powerful fictional film is based on the true-life story of Jean-Marie Lustiger (1926-2007), who, born of Polish Jews, joined the Catholic priesthood and was appointed Archbishop of Paris. There, he openly celebrated his dual identity as a "Catholic Jew," bringing him friends and enemies from both religions. Lustiger’s split allegiance is tested to the core when a group of Carmelite nuns decide to build a monastery on the edge of Auschwitz. Where will Lustiger stand?
On Nov. 16, the Museum of Fine Arts will close at 4:45 p.m. and everyone must exit the Museum at that time. It will re-open at 5:30 p.m. for this screening. Please use State Street Corporation Entrance.
