    25th Boston Jewish Film Festival - Women/Pioneers

This is a moving homage to the mighty women who came from Europe to Palestine a hundred years ago, fixated on a utopian Jewish land decades before there was an Israel. This documentary tells its story through the diaries and letters of the pioneer women who led the most rugged, turbulent, and courageous lives, and whose desires for an egalitarian society, so different from their home countries, were often thwarted by the men who took power.

Discussion moderated by Shulamit Reinharz, director and Founder, Hadassah Brandeis Institute follows the screening.
