    Joyful Voices:  Song for the Season in Concert

    South Shore Conservatory’s renowned Conservatory Concert Series (CCS) continues its 2013/2014 season with the Joyful Voices, a special musical holiday treat featuring the Conservatory’s fabulous voice department on Sunday, December 15, 4 pm, Ellison Center for the Arts, 64 St. George Street in Duxbury.

    The Conservatory Concert Series is generously sponsored by Boston Private Bank & Trust Company. Thanks to their support, admission to the concerts is free, advancing the Conservatory’s mission of expanding access to arts education and performance. CCS features the extraordinary talent of the Conservatory’s faculty.

    Joyful Voices features favorite songs of the season from all genres, and including such favorites as He Shall Feed His Flock from Handel’s Messiah, and The Christmas Song …complete with chestnuts roasting on an open fire! Singers chose songs of the season that move them and have meaning, and will explain to the audience why these songs enchant them. This special concert is sure to have something to please everyone, and will leave concertgoers enriched for having spent a lovely afternoon in song.

    Faculty members performing include Voice Department Chair Emily Browder-Melville, Ross Brown, Jennie Mulqueen, Holly Marshall, Maria Marini, Lorna Jane Norris, Beth Largent, Eve Montague, Sara Bielanski and Kristy Solomon. Pianist Jonathan Roberts will accompany the troupe.
    Following the performance, the audience is invited stay, enjoy some refreshments, and visit with the musicians to learn more about them.

    Joyful Voices is the fourth of seven CCS concerts which include A Fine Romance featuring music from the Romantic period on February 9, Bach to the Future celebrating Bach’s birthday on March 9 and All in the Family featuring SSC faculty and friends who are related on April 27.
