Fiddles and Footwork - An evening of Klezmer music and dancing

Co-presented by the Boston Jewish Music Festival
    Alicia Svigals and Friends, Music
    Steve Weintraub, Dance instruction

Klezmer is the traditional celebration music of East European Jewry, played at weddings, bar/bas mitzvahs and other happy occasions. At turns euphoric and heart-wrenching, its beauty and high emotion have made it a worldwide phenomenon, as electrifying on the concert stage as it is exciting to dance to with family and friends. Alicia Svigals, the extraordinary Klezmer violinist and founder of the Grammy-winning Klezmatics, will have you on your feet on the dance floor where Yiddish dancemaster Steve Weintraub will provide dance lessons. Alicia and Steve bring back the joyful tradition of freylekhs, horas and shers to community events around the world. Get up and dance or sit back and enjoy the music. Beer and wine will be available at a cash bar.
