The Folk/Acoustic Open Mic night at TCAN has been a tradition since its inception in 1997. Come early to sign-in as a performer, or to get a great seat for one of the most successful and entertaining open mic nights on the East coast. Each Folk/Acoustic Open Mic night features a variety of new and experienced performers, followed by concert presentations by the featured artist of the evening. Come and see why TCAN has become the gathering spot to see and meet local artists and nationally recognized touring performers. Tickets sold at the door for all performances. Blending country, folk and pop into a seamless package, they bring a rare freshness and spontaneity to the stage. Their new CD "I Read Your Book" features songs each inspired by a different book. Friction Farm's previous recording earned them a spot as Kerrville New Folk Finalists and Falcon Ridge Emerging Artists in 2011. Miami New Times describes them as "melodious and infectious folk nuggets that couple pretty harmonies with a contemplative simplicity."
