    Fantasies on Birth, Death and Beyond

    The Mastersingers by the Sea chamber chorus with musicians from the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Dr. David MacKenzie will perform their winter concert entitled "Fantasies on Birth, Death and Beyond". This event will be held at the First Congregational Church, 68 Main St., Falmouth, MA. The program will include: LARRY BELL: Serenade No. 2, for Recorder, Cello and Harpsichord; MICHAEL MAULDIN: Introduction of the Child to the Cosmos(1983), for Chorus and Piano; DIETRICH BUXTEHUDE: Trio Sonata in A Major Op. 2, No. 5, for Violin, Viola da Gamba and Harpsichord; HEINRICH BIBER: Aria with Variations in F major, from 'Sonatae Violino Solo' for Violin and Harpsichord; J.S. BACH: Cantata No. 106, “Gottes Zeit Ist Die Allerbeste Zeit”. Soloists will include harpsichordist Paul Cienniwa, recorder players Jan Elliott and Jeff Kaufmann, as well as Baroque violinist Dorian Bandy, viola da gambists Molly Johnston and Linda Houle, and cellist Colleen McGary Smith. A reception will follow the performance.
