Classical guitarist Jose Lezcano and harpist Franziska Huhn perform together in a BCGS Guitar Concert.
José Manuel Lezcano has been described by the New Millennium Guitar Magazine as "a superb guitarist as well as a first-rate composer and arranger" José Manuel Lezcano has performed for audiences on four continents. His programs featuring traditional and Latin American repertory, and his own original compositions have taken him as recitalist, collaborative musician, and concerto soloist from Carnegie Recital Hall and the North-South Consonance Series in New York City to major venues and festivals in Spain, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, China, the Czech Republic and Germany.
At the age of fourteen, harpist Franziska Huhn took first prize in the prestigious Jugend Musiziert Competition in Germany. Subsequently, she went on to to receive a full scholarship to study with Lucille Lawrence and earn a Bachelor of Music degree at Boston University. Ms. Huhn continued her studies with Boston Symphony Orchestra principal harpist Ann Hobson Pilot on a full scholarship at the New England Conservatory of Music, where she completed a Masters Degree in Harp performance and a Graduate Diploma. As a solo performer, Ms. Huhn has given recitals throughout the United States in Illinois, Indiana, Rhode Island and Texas, as well as international recitals in Norway, Poland, Georgia, Russia, Syria, Pakistan and Germany, including several performances for the German President. A proponent of contemporary music, Ms. Huhn's solo repertoire includes works written especially for her by well-known composers such as Daniel Pinkham and Lior Navok.
