Trio Cleonice and Friends
February 19 - May 20, 2014
Trio Cleonice, Graduate Piano Trio-in-Residence at New England Conservatory, excitedly announces its newest project: a monthly chamber music series at United Parish of Brookline, adjacent to bustling Coolidge Corner. The series - "Trio Cleonice and Friends" - will feature the Trio alongside their colleagues, friends, and mentors, in programs celebrating the creativity and diverstiy of chamber music repertoire.
The series kicks off with a program titled, "Celebrating the Viola." Guest artists Dimitri Murrath, Qianqian Li, and Rose Hashimoto join Cleonice musicians Ari Isaacman-Beck, Gwen Krosnick, and Emely Phelps in a program featuring Shulamit Ran's Soliloquy for Violin, Cello, and Piano; Mozart's Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Persichetti's Infanta Marina for Viola and Piano, and Dvorak's ebullient Viola Quintet.
In the group's two and a half years in town, Trio Cleonice has become a beloved part of the Boston chamber music scene, delighting audiences with their energetic, devoted music-making, as well as their dedication to making chamber music as accessible, immediate, and necessary as they find it to be. With Trio Cleonice and Friends, they hope to attract a diverse audience of students and working professionals, devoted chamber music fans, and newcomers. To the end of making the series engaging for a wide range of listeners, Trio Cleonice will host pre- and post- concert talks, sharing how they came up with programs and joining with their fellow artists for Q & A sessions following the concerts.
