Gilbert & Sullivan's Trial by Jury

Presented by at First Church in Cambridge, Congregational

    May 17, 2014

Gilbert & Sullivan's Trial by Jury

The Spectrum Singers tread Savoyard ground for the first time with Gilbert & Sullivan's witty and comical Trial by Jury. This opera-in-concert semi-staged production, with full orchestra, will be of the critical edition by renowned musicologist Steven Ledbetter, researched to correct the myriad errors accrued in the score over the years. The chorus will also perform popular songs from other G&S operettas. A thoroughly entertaining, topsy-turvy event.

The event includes a pre-concert talk by the critical edition's author himself, Steven Ledbetter. Doors open for the talk at 6:45. Doors for concert seating open at 7:40. There will be a 15 minute intermission. The concert is followed by a reception where the audience can mingle with Spectrum's Music Director John W. Ehrlich and chorus members.
