Boston Baroque: Monteverdi's "Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria"
April 25 - April 26, 2014
In a new performing version by Music Director Martin Pearlman, this semi-staged production will feature the U.S. debut of Portuguese tenor and baroque specialist Fernando Guimarães in the title role, and the internationally renowned mezzo-soprano Jennifer Rivera as his loving wife Penelope.
Staged by acclaimed director Mark Streshinsky, they are joined by a stellar cast of today’s most sought after singers in the opera and Baroque music scene. This production is supported in part by the Boston Baroque Opera Guild, and will be followed by a professional recording under the Linn Records label.
