My Poland; My Love. The Music of Chopin with pianist Vladimir Odinokikh
Presented by All Saints Episcopal Church Music Series and Pakachoag Music School of Greater Worcester
May 31, 2014
Award-winning Pianist Vladimir Odinokikh plays some of his favorite selections by Chopin from throughout his career as pianist and teacher.
Selections for this program span Chopin's own career as composer and pianist, and include works first played by Vladimir as a gifted child to the challenging Sonata in B Minor learned as a teen and last performed by Vladimir while enrolled as a conservatory student in Moscow.
Other selections, including the Scherzo in E Major and Mazurkas, are works Vladimir taught to others while a college faculty member in Moscow and conservatory professor in Mexico City. He'll also perform three of Chopin's nocturnes, pieces he has shared over the years with his own younger and sometimes gifted students.
The concert is presented as part of the All Saints Church Concert Series. All Saints is a Pakachoag program partner.
