Lit Week 2014: Poetry in Question

Presented by and GrubStreet at Mary Baker Eddy Library

    April 29, 2014

Lit Week 2014: Poetry in Question

Regie Gibson and the Mary Baker Eddy Library invite writers and lovers of poetry to engage in the Library’s interactive exhibit, Transcending Boundaries and the Mapparium, a three-story stained-glass sculpture of the world. In addition to performing some of his own work, Regie Gibson—poetry educator and former National Poetry Slam Individual Champion— will facilitate creative writing activities that invite the audience to respond to questions posed in the Transcending Boundaries exhibit. Created by teen photographers at Boston’s Artists for Humanity, Transcending Boundaries captures images and questions on the theme of global connection from visitors who have just emerged from inside the Mapparium. Participants will have opportunities to share their poetic output—contributing it to the Transcending Boundaries display, on video, and/or on stage.
