Shakespeare at The Spire Presents Much Ado About Nothing

    July 2 - August 3, 2014

Shakespeare at The Spire Presents Much Ado About Nothing

The Bay Colony Shakespeare Company presents a "merry war" of wit, dishonesty, disguise and true love. In the town of Messina, Leonato's household prepares to welcome his friend, a prince (Don Pedro) and two soldiers (Claudio and Benedick), as well as Don Pedro's illegitimate brother, Don Jon. Upon arrival, Claudio falls in love with Leonato's daughter, Hero, and Benedick matches wits once more with Hero's cousin, Beatrice. The household conspires to bring the sparring Beatrice and Benedick together, all the while preparing for the wedding of Hero and Claudio. But when Claudio is convinced by the scheming Don Jon that Hero is unfaithful, it seems the maid dies of grief, and all forms of love are tested.
