Ladyhips with Halfro
August 15, 2014
Hartford based Ladyhips are not your average band. Since their founding in 2010, their sound has quickly spread throughout the east coast, playing at venues in Manhattan, New Haven and on college campus main-stages. Their influences spread over four centuries of music, providing a sound that can adapt to any room, from rock halls to jazz clubs. Moogerfoogers, goat hooves, MPC's and bowed double bass are just a few of the intriguing sounds you'll hear while listening to Ladyhips. Halfro formed in Philadelphia in 2009 originally under the name “Chocolate Milk”. Their sound blends classic, gritty, hip-hop rhythms with floating melodies, and honest lyrics. Writing and performing their songs with real instruments, Halfro is one just a few true bands in hip-hop today.
