Meet the Jaiswals, a Montreal-based family living in the background of the rise of the International Hare Krishna movement in the 1970s. Following Mr. and Mrs. Jaiswal's divorce, children Jasbir and Prashant are separated when Prashant and his mother decide to return to India. Years later, Prashant learns that Jasbir has re-located to a colony in Kathmandu, Nepal populated by hippies and notorious for its drug culture. Prashant must now venture into new territory in hopes to reconnect with his estranged sister and return her to his family. Epic and dangerous, touching and revelatory, this classic film from Dev Anand reveals both the fragility and ferocity of life and features such iconic songs as "Dum Maro Dum" and "Kanchi Re Kanchi Re."
