iFest, a three day festival of contemporary Irish Culture, comes to the prestigious Seaport World Trade Center, Boston from September 26th - 28th 2014.
With three entertainment stages, hear the best of Irish music play with Grammy award winning legend, Paddy Moloney of The Chieftains and Ireland’s top band talents including The Riptide Movement, Heathers & Jack L. There are also performances and master-classes from Riverdance and a large outdoor Ceilí to take part in.
Taste the very best of Irish cuisine from Ireland’s top chef’s Darina Allen and Kevin Dundon along with Boston’s own Barbara Lynch. Experience a smooth Irish Whiskey or fine craft beer at one of the many master classes and tasting sessions. Enjoy a Boston Irish afternoon tea experience with Bewleys Irish tea and Boston’s top pastry chef Maura Kilpatrick.
Immerse yourself in Irish culture at the iFest Literary Salon, a literary programme which will feature up and coming Irish & American authors. A showcase of costume design from Emmy award-winning Joan Bergin and fashion shows by Junk Kouture.
Discover your past with Genealogy master classes from John Grenham of ‘Who do you think you are’. Learn about the Irish in America with exhibitions from the National Archives, ‘Ireland through the TV lens’; screenings and panel discussions around Ireland’s TV archives.
Meet and greet with the sports stars of the GAA. Watch iconic matches and hit a ‘sliotar’ at the hurling simulator. With sporting memorabilia and panel discussions. Discover the history of Irish sport and Irish sporting greats. Explore a showcase of Irish Tourism in the Tourism Ireland hospitality village for travel and holiday inspiration.
