The Criers launch the concert season by taking a good multi-dimensional look at one of our most beloved string orchestra works – the Tchaikovsky Serenade! We begin with a nocturnal “serenade” delivered by Biber’s own town crier, the Night Watchman. Then Mozart and Stravinsky provide an amazing frame through which to enjoy Tchaikovsky’s classical brilliance and Russian fire.
Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber: The Night Watchman
W. A. Mozart: Divertimento in F
Igor Stravinsky: Concerto in D
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Serenade for Strings
