Behind the red velvet curtain lies a topsy-turvy world of surreal surprises, tricks, and transformations, where dreams come to life and the impossible happens before your very eyes….

Aurélia Thierrée was first seen on the A.R.T. stage as a young girl, performing in the Cirque Imaginaire with her parents. Now an actress and acrobat in her own right, Aurélia has charmed audiences around the world with this dazzling display of stage illusion, inspired by the magic of music hall and circus, and co-created with her mother Victoria Thierrée Chaplin.

An ideal treat for the whole family, suitable for children 8 to 100.

      A little bit of everything rolled into a unique and very entertaining show. Very funny and clever. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

      I had been avoiding the ART because of the grim pieces that had become its signature. So this was a double delight for the contrast - a confection.

      The performers are talented and it is nice to see acrobatics and magic happen at the theater, but unfortunately, a plot line was lacking so the was like pieces of a show but not a whole.

      This performance is difficult to describe. It is curiously different, but not as cirque as I was expecting, as far as acrobatics and not explosive either, but very playful. It was refreshing how they altered reality. I was very disappointed that the show was just an hour and fifteen minutes. Don't get there late or you'll have to wait and sit in the late seating area.       I tried explaining Aurelia's Oratorio to friends after I saw it last year and it's hard to do: part circus, part illusion, and part dance, Aurelia's Oratorio has this effect on you where you start to look at it--and the world--differently as the show progresses. It has that kind of perspective-altering effect that great art often does. My wife also saw it with my 8 year old daughter and she loved it! See this while you can... Collapse

      This production is the enchanting and whimsical legacy of other Chaplin "cirques" we've enjoyed over many years. It was wonderful to see the latest results of Victoria and Aurelia's ever-evolving collaboration. This is a more mature and experimental production, which also reveals growing involvement by her brother and other family members. The large rod puppet was my favorite part. The production is multi-generational; it held great and poignant appeal for my mother (93+), my husband and myself. We were captivated throughout the evening, with very few exceptions. Collapse

It was wonderful to see the latest results of Victoria and Aurelia's ever-evolving collaboration. This is a more mature and experimental production, which also reveals growing involvement by her brother and other family members. The large rod puppet was my favorite part.
