Harvey Robbins is the Founder and President of Harvey Robbins’ Productions. This national organization has been producing major concerts in New England since 1985. Now back to the Hanover Theatre by popular demand after last year’s spectacular show! This year’s extravaganza will feature performances by the Doo Wopp and Motown artists that you have come to know and love! Martha’s original Vandellas will make their first appearance in over 25 years, singing classics like “Dancin’ in the Street”. The Contours will also be making an exclusive appearance singing the classic hit “Do You Love Me” from the major motion picture Dirty Dancing! Leon Hughes, of the original Coasters, will be making his first performance ever in New England! He is the last of the full time performing Coasters of Los Angeles, CA.
Favorite tunes include, “Charlie Brown”, “Smokey Joe’s Café”, “Yakety Yak”, “Poison Ivey”, “Young Blood”, and “Searchin’ ”. This will be a major exclusive New England appearance that you will not want to miss! Also performing will be the original founding members of the Flamingo’s Pioneer Sid Hall and Doug McLure, who is the longest reining lead singer of the band. They have been inducted into the Doo Wopp Hall of Fame. Songs include, “I Only Have Eyes for You”, “Lovers Never Say Goodbye”, “A Kiss From Your Lips”, “I’ll Be Home”, and “Golden Teardrops” among many other great hits. They are considered to be the all time romantic Doo Wopp group in all of Doo Wopp. Additionally, check out the Harvey Robbins’ Royalty of Rock ‘n Roll All-Stars! Performing for the last 20 years, the Rock ‘n Roll All-Stars are showcased on the annual Oldies But Goodies Cruise, and have been playing at Foxwoods Resort and Casino for the last six years! The Rock ‘n Roll All-Stars are featuring celebrity guest Billy Davis. Davis was Jimi Hendrix’s original guitar tutor; Jackie Wilson’s original lead guitarist on the song “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher”; and he was the guitarist and sole composer on the original version of “The Twist” before Chubby Checkers popularized it. This show will have you dancing in the aisles and singing along to your favorite Doo Wopp classics!
