Kicking off Central Square Theater’s second season will be The Caretaker (October 1 - November 1). In celebration of Harold Pinter (1930-2008), described as “the most original, disturbing, and arresting talent,” The Nora Theatre Company brings to life one of his greatest psychological dramas, helmed by Associate Director Daniel Gidron. When an elderly tramp is given lodging in the derelict home of two brothers, the ensuing relationships and shifting alliances intensify with hilarious and unsettling consequences.

      This was my first time seeing a play at the Central Square Theater, and I was very impressed with everything about the play, the actors, showing in the blackbox theater, and the intimacy of the... Expand

      This was my first time seeing a play at the Central Square Theater, and I was very impressed with everything about the play, the actors, showing in the blackbox theater, and the intimacy of the setting. My friend and I sat in the first row near the edge of the stage floor: we found ourselves nearly on top of the actors, so could take in detailed nuances of their language and gestures. The cast and casting seemed flawless -- complicated and difficult lines were delivered with ease, with accompanying emotions performed very accurately. I highly recommend seeing this production, and I'm looking forward to attending another performance at this theater. Collapse

      A very strong production of Pinter. Excellent acting, especially by John Kuntz and Michael Balcanoff, and the small theater enhances the acting and the story.
