Dr. Sidney Berger, Director of the Phillips Library at the Peabody Essex Museum, will host a lecture on June 11, 2009 at 5pm in the Phillips Library, and answer your questions about all aspects of book collecting. From how to start a collection to spotting a fake, Dr. Berger will be your guide to the fascinating and rewarding world of rare and fine books. About Dr. Sidney Berger Dr. Berger is currently the Ann C. Pingree Director of the Phillips Library at the Peabody Essex Museum, and a professor in the Communications Department and the Graduate School of Library and Information Sciences at Simmons College in Boston. He holds his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in Medieval and Renaissance English Literature, and was a Curator for the American Antiquarian Society from 1987-1990. Dr. Berger has taught and lectured extensively on rare books and collections, as well as reviewed literature on the subject.
