    Opening Night at Lexington Symphony

    Lexington Symphony opens its season with special guest Roger Tapping, former violist of the Takacs Quartet, performing Walton's Viola Concerto. Jonathan McPhee, Music Director, leads the orchestra in Rossini's Overture to "La Gazza Ladra" and Brahms' monumental first symphony.

    Parking:

    From Route I-95/128: Take the Route 4/225 exit (Exit 31A) toward Lexington and proceed several miles. You will pass the town green and the center shops. Cary Hall is just beyond the post office and Town Hall on the left, at the top of the circular drive.

    From Boston: Take Route 2 West to the Waltham Street, Lexington exit and follow Waltham Street approximately 2 miles until it ends in the center of Lexington. Turn right onto Massachusetts Avenue. Cary Hall is just beyond the post office and Town Hall on the left, at the top of the circular drive.

      What a terrific concert! The Rossini was fine, not as tight as it could have been, but the Walton was a joy. I have sung some Walton pieces in the past, but was not familiar with his orchestral... Expand
