  This looks great! Here's some more I've found out: John Harbison originally intended to be a professional jazz musician - but only by a cat's whisker - actually a clerical error - did he end up making a living in the classical music world. He's now best known as a composer of "classical" music - symphonies performed by Boston Symphony Orchestra, his Great Gatsby opera at the Met, etc. For this event, Harbison and friends perform "after hours" music they love - jazz, "near art", and some of Harbison's Gatsby songs. Amazingly, this also includes three Pulitzer winners - Harbison's in music; plus writers Louise Gluck and Lloyd Schwartz, who've written lyrics for new songs to be performed. The tix are not cheap, but this seems like a unique event, and is a benefit. I see the pricier tix also include an after-party with the musicians at Upstairs at the Square in Harvard Square, with champagne and desserts. In my experience, the Upstairs will do right by you.
