      When even the street vendor's solo makes you want to stand and cheer, you know you're seeing a rare hit show - one that exceeds its own hype. What the play lacks in plot it more than makes up for in creating characters that we recognize and identify with. The whole cast is unbelievably talented and versatile, including the dancers. I did have a problem with the acoustics at the Opera House (we couldn't understand the words until we moved up), and that shouldn't be, but it couldn't dampen a glorious evening. Collapse

      Thoroughly enjoyed this heartfelt musical. Sound system at Opera House may need a boost though. Our seats were very good and thanks to ArtsBoston, we saved a bundle !!! Thanks..........

      I really wanted to like this show, but left disappointed. The acting and talent was there, but I found there to be so little plot and the plot that there was seemed so contrived that it didn't allow... Expand

      I really wanted to like this show, but left disappointed. The acting and talent was there, but I found there to be so little plot and the plot that there was seemed so contrived that it didn't allow me to connect with the characters and their stories. It felt like a diverse cast on a grown up version of sesame street (ok maybe I am being a little harsh) and that random plot devices were thrown in...a little interracial relationship, an old grandma, stresses about college, neighborhoods changing etc... but there was no one arc to build the story around. The bit with the lottery and the grandma dying, seemed to be put in to make the other parts of the plot work out neatly. I am surprised by all of the accolades. I compare it to other recent musicals (Avenue Q, Wicked, Chicago, Rent) and it doesn't come close to comparing in my humble opinion. The music was fun and enjoyable, but I don't remember a single song or even a title of a single song. Collapse

      I shouldn't have been surprised, considering the accolades this show received on Broadway, but I must say it surpassed my expectations! We absolutely loved it and enjoyed every moment. The set was visually stunning, the choreography was tight and the music was fun and captivating. We were drawn into the story from the beginning. What an incredibly talented cast!!!! Our only regret was that our two teenagers missed seeing it - will definitely take them when it returns to Boston. Highly recommend it to all - a must see! Collapse

      We loved IN the Heights. This company is energetic; talented. The seats were kind of up high but we were ablet o move down to the next level during intermission. Absolutely loved it.

      The Talent was certainly there but we couldn't understand hardly a word that was said from where we sat so we left at intermission and will see the rest when it comes out on netflix.

      What a great show! I've listened to this CD with my daughter for a year driving to school in the car. I knew the story. Seeing it in person, you people made me cry. Again,such talent.

      We saw the play 01/13/10. SOOOO good!I can be really critical but, this was great. I love watching talent. It's so rare these days. You guys did beyond well!!

      When even the street vendor's solo makes you want to stand and cheer, you know you're seeing a rare hit show - one that exceeds its own hype. What the play lacks in plot it more than makes up for in creating characters that we recognize and identify with. The whole cast is unbelievably talented and versatile, including the dancers. I did have a problem with the acoustics at the Opera House (we couldn't understand the words until we moved up), and that shouldn't be, but it couldn't dampen a glorious evening. Collapse

      I really wanted to like this show, but left disappointed. The acting and talent was there, but I found there to be so little plot and the plot that there was seemed so contrived that it didn't allow me to connect with the characters and their stories.
