Translucent Visions: Frederic Whitaker and Eileen Monaghan Whitaker – A Retrospective in Watercolor features 45 works by these two noted artists, now deceased, whose landscapes, cityscapes, animal studies, figurative genre, fruit and floral still-lifes, and the inspired imagery of Latin America, have made the Whitaker name synonymous with watercolor painting. Through bold illustration, keen observation, and a deft use of the fluid transparency of watercolor, their work demonstrates the ways in which watercolor is a medium capable of great depth and monumentality.
