Love and life in full swing.

In the mythical village Titi-Pu, where flirting is illegal, a young rocker on the run from his over-eager fiancée is searching for the woman who stole his heart. Unfortunately, she has already been promised to her much older guardian. This snappy adaptation of a classic musical by Gilbert and Sullivan has tunes and styles ranging from jazz and swing to gospel and blues. In this zany world full of colorful characters, flash, and fun, there is no telling what a wink will get you and who will ultimately steal your heart.

      This show was absolutely terrific. The characters were charming, the singing was often Broadway quality, and the spirit was uplifting. This is a HIGH recommend.

      Friday night, 5/7: Nothing was lost in the translation of this G&S classic to 1930s swing style. All the wit and fun were preserved, and the lively, well-choreographed dancing was a perfect way to... Expand

      Friday night, 5/7: Nothing was lost in the translation of this G&S classic to 1930s swing style. All the wit and fun were preserved, and the lively, well-choreographed dancing was a perfect way to punch up the production. The actress playing Yum-Yum was especially good, with a wonderful voice and an adorable air (and an air that suggested she expected to be adored!). The Mikado's song was a bravura performance, with the actor's knowing, wink-wink attitude bringing the audience into cahoots with him in recognizing the ridiculousness of the situation. The "Three Little Maids" number done in Andrews Sisters style was another high point--all three of the actresses have exceptional voices, and the harmony was impeccable. What a fun night! Great choice for the season finale! Collapse
