This Off-Broadway hit features the soulful and emotional music of blues legend Billie Holiday, voiced through a dramatic cabaret act. During one of her final performances, she intertwines songs such as “God Bless the Child” and “Strange Fruit” with stories of her life as she wrestles with her past and addiction to heroin. As she begins to unravel, it becomes clear that music is a force that has helped her to survive. The show offers “a poignant dramatic structure that plays like one of her own sad and haunting songs.” –Variety

“The most sensible attempt to capture the elusive mystique of the great Billie Holiday.” –New York Times

By Lanie Robertson, Directed by Spiro Veloudos, Featuring Jacqui Parker as Billie Holiday
