Psychic mediums, séances gone awry, and celestial visitors are a recipe for amusement in Noel Coward’s classic comedy. When Charles and Ruth Condomine invite their friends over for a séance with the eccentric Madame Arcati, they unearth more than they bargained for when Charles’ late first wife materializes in a ghostly state. As the visiting specter frolics, Charles is caught between his live wife and dead wife in a play filled with what the The New York Times called “supernatural gags in verbal and physical permutations.”

      Paula Plum, one of the greatest Boston actors,dropped out of the show and was replaced by someone who was holding her script in her hand and reading from it while performing. No one to blame, but it... Expand

      Paula Plum, one of the greatest Boston actors,dropped out of the show and was replaced by someone who was holding her script in her hand and reading from it while performing. No one to blame, but it really ruined the show. It was like watching a rehearsal. And the theatre did not do anything to compensate those of us who had come to see a real show. They should of offered half-price tickets to another show next season or at the very least given us refreshments. Not good. Collapse

      I don't have to remind anyone that the quality of the cast does not get any better than this, and none of them disappoint in this hilarious and faithful production of Noel Coward's classic. Director... Expand

      I don't have to remind anyone that the quality of the cast does not get any better than this, and none of them disappoint in this hilarious and faithful production of Noel Coward's classic. Director Spiro Veloudos not only knows how to channel the best energy from his cast but knows how to portray that this show is really about marital relationships and the consequences that follow. It clocked it at 2 1/2 hours, but it flew! Paula Plum's facial expressions and Kathy St. George's charming medium were worth the price of admission! Collapse

      The whole production was marvelous. The cast was in tune (despite some accent lapses) w/the comedy & made the most of it. Paula Plum stole the show as Elvira but Snee, St. George & Gottleib gave... Expand

      The whole production was marvelous. The cast was in tune (despite some accent lapses) w/the comedy & made the most of it. Paula Plum stole the show as Elvira but Snee, St. George & Gottleib gave good performances too. It's hard to capture the 30's Coward tone but this production did a creditable job. Collapse
