September 18, 2009
Add Review/Comment
Albuquerque, New Mexico-based A Hawk and a Hacksaw is the creation of former Neutral Milk Hotel drummer Jeremy Barnes and violinist Heather Trost, who are also in the band Beirut. They embrace the sounds of myriad places and people, from the midlands of England, to France, the CzechRepublic, Romania and Hungary, via the pair’s hometown. Their most recent album, Deliverance, which was recorded in Budapest and released in June, delves deeply into Hungarian folk music and delivers it with an indie-rock perspective. Damon and Naomi will open.
