    Music of the Stars

    Longwood Symphony Orchestra invites you to its annual free concert at the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade as part of the Landmarks Festival at the Shell!! Join Artistic Director Jonathan McPhee for an evening of summer fun for all under the stars! The program will begin with a newly commissioned work from Gene Scheer inspired by the words and work of Nobel prize winner Dr. Albert Schweitzer. LSO's partnership with the Foundation for Chinese Performing Arts continues this summer with a number of student musicians joining the orchestra onstage including the teenage winner of the Arts Concerto Competition who will be featured on Ravel's Piano Concerto. The evening will come to a rousing finish with beloved pieces from the film world including Star Trek and Star Wars.
