“So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see, So long lives this and this gives life to thee." Optimistic young lives are driven into a single tomb in Journeymen Theatreworks’ production of Romeo & Juliet. Containing some of Shakespeare's brightest love poetry, this interpretation of Romeo & Juliet combines cinematic elegance and ritualistic simplicity with raw physical energy and teenage romance so that all, including the characters themselves, can be witness to the meaning of true love.

      Although we don't always like "updating" to Shakespeare, we quite enjoyed the creativity in this production. Interweaving the sonnets worked beautifully.

      To put it simply, opening night’s performance was incredible. Well performed, lines recited poetically and emotions moved. I am pondering the thought of seeing another performance. This year’s show surpassed last year’s and I enjoyed seeing some familiar faces. Again, well done! Collapse

      It exceeded all my expectations!! It was a clever production using the traditional poetic words of Shakespeare, while using unconventional staging, costumes, and direction. The audience was completely pulled deeply into the entire production. I highly recommend attending this. The Calderwood Pavillion is the perfect venue for this production. Collapse
