These stories originally by the Brothers Grimm have been remixed, re-imagined and given a fresh Boston twist! Featuring new work by Melinda Lopez (Sonia Flew), Lydia R.       I have a stack of playbills 15 inches high. I am always sad when we invest our time and $$ in theater and it is a bust. Not so with Grimm! It was creative, quirky, laugh out loud funny (Crybaby Jones), and as diverse as it gets. We really enjoyed this experience and recommend it to those with open minds and a penchant to find humor in rediscovering things that have beome cliched in our culture. Collapse

      We were looking for something inventive & with strong local connection. Strong cast, uneven storylines, maybe a little long, but given the theme, it was as expected. We quite enjoyed our evening.

      Made it to intermission by using impulse-control. First two skits were not understandable. Third one, while intended to be over-the-top was insultingly bad. Worst piece of theatre I have ever been... Expand

      The opening skit is perhaps the single most annoying piece of theater ever composed. It had me wanting to pull the fire alarm. And judging by the groans and sounds of forehead-skin hitting disgruntled... Expand

      The opening skit is perhaps the single most annoying piece of theater ever composed. It had me wanting to pull the fire alarm. And judging by the groans and sounds of forehead-skin hitting disgruntled palms, I wasn't alone in this perscpective. Out of the total seven skits, two were highly entertaining, and one was clever at best. Beyond that, you get an unfortunate mix of a non-sensical sadism, a drug trip that doesnt follow, and a healthy 30 minute double-dose of 7 bickering dwarf-personalities with no plot progression. Unfortunately, you can't just fast forward to the good skits, and I'm not convinced that the highlights make it worth enduring the other atrocities this show unleashes on the audience. I'm no Negative Nancy, so I felt compelled to say something nice. If there is one redeeming quality of this experience, its the skillful versatility of the players. Bottom Line: skip it. & if you get suckered in, follow your gut feeling at intermission... wish I had Collapse

      This is one of the best plays I have ever viewed. The actors/tresses were amazing. The timing of the voices were perfect. I highly recommend this.
