Machinal is a play written by American playwright and journalist Sophie Treadwell, inspired by the real life case of convicted and executed murderess Ruth Snyder. Directed by Doug Lockwood.

      Riveting play, loosely based on a true story from the 1920's. This was an exceptional production in all aspects. The creative staging was enhanced by the unique physical space that is Midway Studios... Expand

      Riveting play, loosely based on a true story from the 1920's. This was an exceptional production in all aspects. The creative staging was enhanced by the unique physical space that is Midway Studios theater area. The direction, the acting(!),sound, lighting, costumes, make-up....everything was top-notch, and gelled beautifully. Timing was perfection. Pity that the scheduled run was only 4 performances. One aside...I would have liked the printed program to include, at least to some extent, the dramaturgy work shown on placards in the lobby. Collapse
